Where does this data come from?
From Datapile's funding-news database — real, sourced rounds we track. We look at the last 12 months of rounds in your stage, then narrow to your sector and country when there's enough data. Nobody else in our competitor set offers this free.
Why the median and quartiles instead of an average?
Round sizes are heavy-tailed — one $200M mega-round would drag an average up and mislead you. The median (p50) is the typical round; p25 and p75 show the normal spread. We only publish a benchmark when we have at least 12 comparable rounds.
How is the implied pre-money calculated?
Pre-money ≈ round size ÷ dilution − round size. We show a band from a typical dilution range for your stage, and you can drag the dilution slider to see your own assumption. It's a heuristic for orientation, not a valuation — your terms govern.
