Marketplace Terms

Version 2026-08-15. These terms supplement our Terms of Service and apply specifically to the startup marketplace.

For founders publishing a listing

Accepted when you publish your listing. Publishing again after a terms update means accepting the updated version.

  • 1Everything in my listing is true and current to the best of my knowledge — revenue bands, raise amount, and company details. Misleading listings are removed and can lead to account suspension.
  • 2I have the authority to list this company and to share the information in the listing.
  • 3Datapile may review, hold, or unpublish my listing (including automated review at publish time) and may decline to display content that violates these terms.
  • 4Introductions happen through Datapile's inbox. I will respond honestly to inbound requests and may accept or decline any of them; accepting shares my reply with that requester.
  • 5Datapile is a discovery platform, not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or party to any transaction. Any deal I negotiate is strictly between me and the counterparty.

For investors, acquirers & advisors contacting founders

Accepted the first time you send a request to a founder. A terms update re-prompts on your next request.

  • 1I will use listing information only to evaluate a genuine opportunity — not to scrape, resell, republish, or build a competing database from it.
  • 2Financial details founders share (revenue bands, raise, decks) are confidential business information. I will treat them accordingly and not redistribute them.
  • 3Listing data is founder-self-reported. Datapile verifies accounts and domains where marked, but does not audit financials — I am responsible for my own diligence.
  • 4I will identify myself honestly in requests. Impersonation or misleading outreach leads to removal.
  • 5Datapile is a discovery platform, not a broker-dealer or investment adviser, and is not a party to, nor liable for, any transaction that results from an introduction.

What Datapile is — and isn't

Datapile operates the marketplace as a discovery and introduction platform. We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or party to any transaction between founders and the people who contact them. Listings are founder-self-reported; account and domain verification badges reflect the checks described on the listing, not an audit. Questions about these terms: info@datapile.co.
