Refund Policy

Datapile is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription that gives you access to our investor database, search filters, pipeline tracker, and outreach tools. Because nothing physical is shipped, this policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for digital subscriptions.

7-day money-back guarantee

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first paid billing period of any Datapile subscription (Pro or Company, monthly or yearly). If our data quality, coverage, or product doesn't meet your expectations, email us at info@datapile.co within 7 days of your initial charge and we will issue a full refund of that payment — no calls, no hoops.

The 7-day window applies only to your first paid charge on a given plan. Subsequent monthly or annual renewals are not covered by the 7-day guarantee — instead, you can cancel at any time before the next renewal date (see "Cancellations" below).

Cancellations

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or billing portal. When you cancel:

  • You keep full access to your paid plan until the end of the current billing period.
  • You will not be charged again.
  • At the end of the period, your account is automatically moved to the free Starter plan (5 unlocks per month).
  • You never lose access to investor contacts you've already unlocked.

We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months or unused days within a paid period after the initial 7-day window has passed.

Annual plans

For annual plans, the 7-day money-back guarantee covers the first annual charge. After 7 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable for the remainder of the year, but you can still cancel at any time to prevent auto-renewal. If you cancel an annual plan mid-year, you keep access through the end of your paid term.

EU / UK 14-day cooling-off period

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of purchase under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and equivalent UK regulations, without giving a reason. By starting to use Datapile during this period (for example, by unlocking investor contacts), you acknowledge that the service has begun, and we may deduct a proportional amount for any usage prior to cancellation. To exercise this right, email info@datapile.co.

Where the EU/UK 14-day period and our 7-day guarantee overlap, you receive whichever protection is more favorable to you.

How to request a refund

  1. Email us at info@datapile.co from the address on your Datapile account.
  2. Include the date of your charge and (optionally) a one-line reason — feedback helps us improve the product.
  3. We aim to reply within one business day and process approved refunds the same day.

When refunds are processed

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Once processed on our side, the funds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. If more than 10 business days have passed since we confirmed your refund and you don't see it, please contact us at info@datapile.co so we can investigate with Stripe.

Free Starter plan

Our free Starter plan (5 unlocks per month) requires no payment, so no refund is necessary. You can downgrade to Starter at any time, and your account will remain active indefinitely.

Exceptions

We may decline refund requests that show evidence of abuse — for example, repeated sign-ups for the sole purpose of obtaining trial refunds, attempts to scrape or export data outside the limits of the plan, or violations of our Terms of Service. In rare cases involving chargebacks, we reserve the right to suspend the associated account.

Nothing in this policy limits or removes any mandatory consumer rights you have under applicable law (including the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, and equivalent local statutes). Where those rights apply, they override anything inconsistent in this policy.
