How does the investor match tool work?
Tell us your stage, sector, geography, and target check size. We search our database of 326,000+ verified investors — your stage and check size shape the ranking (angels and micro-VCs weighted up for pre-seed, growth and PE for later rounds), and your sector matches on full-label focus areas — then show the VCs and angels that best fit, ranked by relevance and fit score.
Do the stage and check size actually change the results?
Yes. The investor database has no explicit stage column, so we use documented proxy signals — investor type, title, and focus keywords — to weight, for example, angels for pre-seed and growth/PE for Series B and beyond. Check size re-ranks in the same direction (a $5M+ check isn't an angel; a sub-$50K check isn't a PE fund). Geography is a hard filter.
Is the investor matching free?
Yes. Seeing your matching investors, the firms they work at, and who's recently deployed in your sector is completely free. You only create a free account when you want to reveal their verified email addresses and contact details.
